Double major and major/minor?

I am going to be in college next year and am probably majoring in biomedical engineering or some field of biology, depends on which college i get into. I am also thinking of double majoring or having a minor. Which do you prefer?

Also, can you double major in two different colleges, say like in collge of engineering and college of arts&science?

Yes, you can double major in two different colleges normally.

Major is better because you actually end up with two degrees. It takes longer, but if the difference btw the minor and major (in terms of # of credits needed), it’s usually worth it to stay a bit longer and get the major.

Now, biomedical engineering is no joke. Seriously, try out just one major before jumping into two. Especially if you’re planning on going to med school or something like that.

I’m going to be a senior in high school (I assume you are the same), but I’ve visited 14 colleges so far (so I generally know stuff about college).

The only difference that I know of is that double majoring requires more credits, which means more time. This may cause you to have to stay for 5 years. Personally, I’d go for the major/minor unless you are sure you are up for more work.

I’m currently double majoring in chemistry and biology. Definitely consider double majoring it’ll give you a broader education and make you a more marketable person after graduation. Plus if you were considering Med. School, double majoring would be very beneficial.

If i was you get one major and one minor, the other major that you wanted get a masters in. Instead of 5-6 years undergrad, you can have master’s in 6.
