Does it matter what undergraduate college i attend if i want my MBA?
I am attending a college to get an accounting degree, but i want to attend a top MBA program like UCLA, Northwestern, or Berkeley. The college i am attending is a State college in california because of financial reasons. I am doing well so far in school: i maintained a 4.0 GPA thus far, worked, and will be doing community services and joining clubs to further my chances of being accepted. I was wondering will these top business school care where i went for my bachelor’s degree, or do other things like academics, GMAT, etc. matter most?
Thanks for opinions and advice

Your GPA, GMAT, and work experience is more important. But if you’re tied with another person with similar stats but that person goes to better school, that person gets in. Work experience is a must.

I’m halfway through an MBA program here in California. I went to a private university and got a music degree for my undergraduate. So it really doesn’t matter where you go to school as long as it is accredited. A friend of mine got his B.S. online and went to a top 25 MBA program.
From what I remember about the MBA admissions process – what they looked for is GMAT Scores, personal statement, overall GPA and most importantly, work experience. A word of advice, get a few years of accounting work under your belt before you go for your MBA. A lot of the work we do draws from practical experience and you will have more to offer your group members and in class discussions.

It may matter, but only a little. It’s just one minor factor that adcoms take into account. They care about your work experience a lot more though. That and your grades and GMAT matter the most.
