You notice how the females say “no”. I’m guessing they are elementary teachers.

I say “YES”. A good crack on the *** might wake ’em up and might be the only discipline they ever get since their parents do not do it.

not the cane no…but i think they need to do some sort of harsher punishment to schools so they cant just run riot and please themselves.

im a single mum of 2 and bringing my kids up as well as i can and with respect and because some mums dont care, then my children will start high school and could get in with the wrong crowd then all my hard work has been for nothing. all because they arnt allowed to punish kids in school anymore..really annoying.x

Actually no….this is based upon all my experience sitting in Sister Mary Elizabeth Butch’s homeroom class and her having the freedom to use her ruler (across the knuckles) whenever she felt that someone was acting poorly.

Not a pretty sight….traumatized a number of kids. Didn’t accomplish anything (other than her sadistic issues) as most of the kids she set her sight on turned out to be criminals due to their low self esteem of getting regular beatings from Sister Butch.

How about we just expel the violators?

Absolutely not. I as a mother would go after a teacher who EVER touches my child. When I was in first grade my teacher beat us. When I say beat I mean she slammed people’s heads into their desks, pinched skin, pulled hair, etc. One day I fell down at recess and busted out two teeth and was bleeding all over myself and she told me I shouldn’t have been running so I would have to learn the consequences. We were on RECESS! I was 8! Teachers who try to physically punish students should be sent to jail.

Everyone who has said yes is completely insane, dont blame the fact that children misbehave on because their not getting beat blame it on **** parents. the cane hurt many more people than it helped, sickos

Absolutely not. If anyone laid an unkind hand on my children they would have way more trouble than they bargained for.

It’s the PARENTS’ responsibility to discipline their kids, NOT the schools.

Most certainly. The rise in vandalism can be traced to the decline of in-school discipline

Yes, they should if they want disciplined generation to come. Freedom to overt action alone is no freedom, freedom should aslo carry responcibility of such freedom.

That will never happen again, but if a student gets to a certain age, and just doesn’t get it, he should be put to hard labor,
