If you want to go to school to be an ultrasound technologist, make sure you go to an accredited school. There are many NON-accredited schools out there, but don’t waste your time or money. Upon completion and graduation from a non-accredited program, you must work in the field of ultrasound for a full year before you can take your registry exams. BUT, you will have a hard time getting that job without your license. Those non-accredited programs put you between a rock and a hard place.
There are many accredited programs in the US. Search the following site for “diagnostic medical sonographer” and and state for a list. You can click on the individual programs for more information on each program at this site:

The ASRT (Amer. Society of Radiologic Technologists) just did a large salary survey. You can go to this site to see the average salary in any US state. In MO, the yearly salary is $57,423.

Try checking out your local community colleges. A lot of community colleges here in Houston offer those same programs but for a lot less money than a technical/diagnostic school.
