Which is more important for college: Extra Curriculars or grades?

I’m approaching my Senior year of High School. I hold a 3.9GPA, and have participated in Honors and AP classes. I am concerned as to whether or not I should give major focus to holding all A’s (which I have maintained in my classes in the past except for math) or should increase my extra-curriculars?? I realizer the importance or grades, but I don’t want to drop my commitment to my extra-curriculars either.

Extra cirricular activities are importnt and so is community service. But keep those great grades. They will get you into the school of your choice.

It really depends on the school. If you want to go to a private school that is really selective, you’ll need both actually. Sure u have a 3.9 but so do the other 10,000+ people applying. (not to be mean, but thats how it is) so for a private university with a smaller campus, both are important. For a public universtiy with a large campus, grades would be more important. i live in california, and all of the UC’s here are required to take in the top 10% of students from each school. (i think its 10%). so depending on what state you live in, and if you want to go to a public universty, with you’re GPA, you’re likely to get into any public school you want. I actually dont go to one, but my teacher from high school told us about that since he went to a UC. i go to csun (cal state northridge). csu’s are way easier to get into. also, alot of schools are hard to get into because of the popularity. so depending on whether its public or private, you’ll have a very good chance of getting into a good public university, and if you want to go with a private, make sure you keep up with your extra cirriculars. i personally reccomend a good public university. they’re more affordable and look good on resumes too. you want to go with a university of (entor your state here), rather than a (enter your state here) state unversity. but you probably already know that. well good luck, hope that helps.

nicely extra curricular events have dazzling magnitude in case you’re taking the excellent ones. golf equipment can get you scholarships, yet so can activities in case you’re in them for 4 years or have been on a varsity team for 2 years.

It all depends on the school. Big schools want grades and test scores. Smaller (and/or more competitive) schools probably want a more rounded student.
