Does a coed residence hall mean a coed comunal bathroom??

if i choose to live in a coed dorm does that mean that there wil be guys in my shower?

it seems kind of awkard to imagine sharing showers and toilets with men. and if i have a coed bathroom should i leave the room if i see someone using a urinal?

Only if you are lucky, it depends on the school.

I don’t know of any college that has the sort of set-up you describe. If a hall is suite style, (two or more rooms sharing an attached bathroom), then all the people in that suite will be of the same gender. If a hall has traditional bathroom facilities (a central bathroom shared by multiple rooms) then either the entire floor/wing that uses a bathroom is one gender or there will be designated bathrooms for each.

It depends on what University you are going to. I went to a Christian University, and their idea of coed dorm was one floor of men and 5 floors of women. Neither being allowed on the others’ floors. The only communal area was a lounge/study area that was frequently monitored.

C’mon now. You go to the mall, and that’s a “co-educational” place. But they have separate bathrooms for men and women, right? Universities might be ivory towers of liberalism, but they’re not loony bins.
