Usually not if you’re just looking to take a few classes. However, if you’re looking to get a degree then you would need to complete your GED.
To be honest, getting your HS diploma is just a good idea any way you look at it.

Yes, community colleges generally require a HS diploma or GED. If you don’t have either, contact the admissions office at your local community college. They can probably give you a lead on a GED program. Good luck!

Yes, unless like some community colleges do, they offer GED preparation at the college. However, the student would not be able to take college level courses until the GED is passed.

You can take concurrent enrollment classes that count for high school AND college and kill two birds with one stone. That is what I did – it is a savings of time and money. I greatly suggest you do this. Also, make sure you are ready to take school seriously as when you fail all it does is hurt your GPA and your pocketbook. High school is free and full of do-overs, but college is not. College is serious – moneywise and the remedial classes are THE SAME as high school. – BEWARE – and lay off the partying till you graduate or you will go home in shame with your head hung low, your tail between your legs and your GPA a negative. 🙁
