do you mean in on campus housing? it is very common yes. but you can live in the surrounding area and commute. that is common as well. i will say though that commuter students do not get the same college experience as those who stay on campus.
oh you mean they stay after college? that is common as well, but not necessarily that much. in some college towns, the job market is saturated with college grads, such as my town Madison, WI, peopel come here to UW and wont leave. but plenty of people go else where as well
