Do I have a better chance getting into NYU if I apply as an undecided major rather than a given one?
The given one would probably be history or finance…not sure

History and finance are not competitive majors at NYU. NYU is more known for their arts and film so if you were to put down a major relating to that it would affect your admissions. They can only let so many kids into competitive programs, so if one student has better credentials they will let that student in.
It would not matter if you put down a chosen major, given the majors that you have provided. They are just as likely to put you into a non-competitive major than they are to put you into undecided.

you should ask an admissions officer they were pretty nice when I visited there.
