The traditional difference between the BA and BS degrees has been obscured over time. BA degrees tended to be focused on well-rounded curricula tending toward the humanities. BS degrees were awarded to those in the natural sciences.

In the situation of computer science, the functional differences between the BA and BS can be determined by examining the required courses at the particular university/college offering the degree. Once you see the differences, you can choose which you prefer.

Another consideration is to look at various careers / jobs or companies of interest for your employment goal. Find out if there is a hiring preference. Get job descriptions and look at the qualification/requirements for employment. Ask the Human Resources department about their hiring preferences. Talk with career counselors at your college. Attend meetings of relevant professional societies (see if there is a local chapter near you). Talk with your professors, especially those who have practical experience in the industry and not only those with only academic backgrounds.

Visit websites like www.salary.com and see if there are differences in salaries (not only by degree, but also by geographical region/state/city) and career paths.

Hope this helps. Best wishes in your endeavors.

You usually have to take more science courses outside your major for a BS.

It shouldn’t make a whole lot of difference when you look for a job. Either way, you can say that you have a bachelor’s degree in CS.

The quality of your university is a more important factor than the BA vs BS.

In u.s., you get a level in steps, the longer you bypass to college, you would be waiting to get extra stages… in spite of the indisputable fact that it costs further and further. they are all referred to as college stages, commencing with the 1st you may get. a million. 4-6 years of faculty: Bachelors degree 2. 5-8 years or college: Masters degree 3. 7-10 years of faculty: Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) once you get a Doctorate degree, you’re formally referred to as wellness care expert, and additionally you oftentimes would desire to take an oath. The years I gave you indexed right here are all very typical. It relies upon on how rapid you end your training, and optimistically in case you do now not flunk any. It only feels such as you have a Bachelors degree with some very short Masters point training.

Nothing substantial. At some colleges, a BA has different lower level requirements than a BS (the BA may require extra liberal arts/language classes, the BS may require extra science and math.) At some schools, it’s just a matter of which you’d rather have on your diploma.

Once I asked a Friend of mine and his explanation is simple and I think it is easy to understand and true to some extend.

BA are studies that are more general and rounded. In some cases, BA focuses more to human issues.

BSc are studies that will involved more technical / specific mathematical engineering or calculations.

So, BA in Computer are usually founded to be more general or more connected to the business or human entity. B.Sc are more focused into Technical aspect such as programming or calculations and etc.

Hope this helps too.
