If you wish to consider other schools outside of Maryland, let me recommend three in particular:

1. The University of Alabama at Birmingham – A phenomenal dental school with unparalleled achievements in maxillofaciallary surgery and dental care. This program is selective, but if you get in, you are going to be educated very well and sought after upon your program’s completion.

2. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – In the upper echelon with UAB (mentioned above). UNC coordinates it dental school with other facets of medical programs such as public health. It is a very unique approach and the students rate the curriculum as very progressive.

3. The University of Pittsburgh – Perhaps the most comprehensive medical complex, Pitt offers a plethora of opportunities. Their dental school, like every other medical program, is well-funded and dental students emerge trained for the technological breakthroughs in the field of dentistry.
