Delta Sigma Theta?

So, I’ve been on pins & needles about this situation. I have been an aspirant of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated for a long time now. This fall I will be transferring to a undergraduate school in which there is no chapter of the sorority, which is a disappointment within itself. The school in which I am scheduled to attend this fall has numerous chapters at other universities in the same city in addition to a city wide chapter. My question is how do I choose which chapter to approach with my interest to potentially accept me coming from my particular school? Also, how should I go about approaching another chapter?

You might have to double check, but my understanding for your eligibility is as follows: you can pledge the city wide chapter, but not the chapters at the other university. I belive the city wide chapter exists for the schools who do not have their own chapter. However, the best thing is to attend an event near you and speak with the sorors. They should be able to tell you what chapter you are allowed to attempt intake with. There’s no special way to approach them, just attend events and let them get to know you.

Another soror who has a situation similar to yours may answer and give you more details.

Good luck!

First of all smart choice in choosing to become a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorrority Incorporated. If I were you I’d make contact with someone in the citywide (local) chapter. More than likely a future sorror from the local chapter will advise you on the best thing to do…espeacially since there isn’t a chapter at the school you are transferring to….Just be honest an upfront about your interest in the sorrority and see what they suggest you do to become a member.

If there is no chapter at your school then you can’t get in. You can’t go to another school that you don’t attend to get accepted. (I’m sorry if this isn’t what you were asking for, but that’s what it sounded like with your question)
