From personal experience (Double major in Finance and Management) I would definitely recommend going the Business Administration route, specifically a Bachelor’s of Business Science in Finance. For one thing you will receive the proper courses needed for your desire in Finance (usually 4 classes of Finance) and you will get the most well-rounded classes needed for a career in Finance (such as 4 classes in accounting, 4 classes in management, and 2 in Economics). Plus many of the electives can be to your choosing that compliment a Finance career, such as Income Tax accounting and Portfolio investment classes. As always speak with an advisor as well but more than likely they’ll recommend the BBS degree with a major in Finance. Hope this helps.

It should not matter which degree you take. What is important is the choice of courses that the degree offers. Select a school that offers the courses which will give you the background you need. If you are interested in investments, you should plan to take as much accounting as possible, as well as finance courses. A Bus Econ school may not offer a lot of accounting courses. On the other hand the Bus. Econ program may offer more of the quantitative courses that you may want in your background. Look at the curriculum carefully before you decide.
