There is often a difference between what is legal and what is right.

Tear down a 200 year old mansion that some war hero grew up in to build high-rise condos that only millionaires can afford? Sure, it’s legal. But is it right?

Your friend witnessed an accident, even though he has bad eyesight, and testified in court. Now you’re called in to say that your friend has bad eyesight, which can only embarrass him and compromise his credibility. Legal? Yeah, it’s even required if you’re under subpoena. But is it right?

Applying the law in absolutes ensures a law-abiding, but not necessarily just, society.
