College for animal sciences?

I’m a sophomore in Kentucky. I have a 3.75 grade average and I’m a pretty good student. I’m interested in the following: Animal Bioscience, Animal Scientists, Zoologists and Wildlife Biologists, Animal Behaviorist, and basically any other animal science careers- other than veterinarians. B/c I’m squeamish.

I need to find careers, schools, jobs, and anything else that could be of help for this. Thank you so much. I just want to get to know what is out there and if it’s right for me. Are there many scholarships that I could try for? Can I try for them as a sophomore.

And finally- I don’t play high school sports and I’m not on many ‘teams’ would that hurt me that badly? I’m in debate, beta-club, and I’m taking A.P classes but would that be enough? I know the more the better but I really can’t do a lot more with all of the homework that I already have. Are there many colleges that look for community service/ volunteer hours? B/c by the end of high school I should have around 1000 hours.

Due to your GPA and debate team, beta and AP you have a great shot to get into any school you want!

Talk to your counselor about careers – once you decide on that then base your major choice on what career you would like.

Good Luck,
