Actually yes and you might be able to save money too. Just make sure whatever classes you take, regardless if it’s for electives or not, will TRANSFER to a designated college you are planning to attend.

Some colleges refuse or deny some classes a student takes for a number of reasons. It’s best to make sure you contact the college you are planning to attend will accept the classes you are going to take at the community college.

You call the admissions office and ask about applying to their PESOP program(some schools have a different name for it so just explain to them you are a high school student who would like to take some classes) or speak to your high school counselor for help. Most community colleges and some state universities have this program and you take the class(es) and whatever grade and credits you earn go towards your college credits (as long as they are accepted by the school you apply to) and when you fill out your college app theere will be a section that asks if you have had previous education at another college or university and you just fill out th info. You can also take AP classes at your high school and take the exams and get a college credit that way. Both are great ways to get some credits behind you and be a few steps ahead when you go to college full time and can save you alot of money. Most schools have GPA requirements to allow student to do this by the way. GOOD LUCK

If you have a college prep seal and intend on going to college please take advantage of every opportunity to take college courses. When you take college courses in high school it acts like cross registration. Meaning you go to both schools at one time. When you graduate the classes that were taken at the community college will be transferable to a university. Most freshman’s start with zero credit. If you take college classes in high school you will be around a semester ahead of other incoming freshmans. This cuts back the time you will spend in college and also saves you money. University tuition and fees are typically higher than a community college.

You’re talking about in high school. Yeah that is common, as are some solids. But not eveyr course is transferable to every college or University, even your High School AP course not not transfer to an Ivy League school or an out of state schools.

AP and Com College usually transfer easiest to State Colleges in your state.

Your state college course all transfer to almost anywhere.

You have to get permission from your high school to do dual enrollment. If you want to take English 101 for example, the college will hold your grade until you graduate from high school. It’s a good idea if you want to save money and time in college.
