Can you go to an out of state school and not live in that state?

What I mean is, can I go to University of Cincinnati while I’m living in Northern Kentucky? It’s only 25 minutes away.

As long as you live in one of the three northern KY counties, you can attend UC at Ohio rates. (At least you could a few years ago when I did the reverse with NKU.) The question is why would you want to?

You can definitely go to an out of state school without living in that state. The reason why there is a specification for in state and out state schools is because of the price tag. People living in the state of Ohio will enjoy a much cheaper education at the University than you will because you live out-of-state. But you can still be admitted and go to the school. The question becomes do you want to pay for an out-of-state tuition because it is very pricey.

Yes, as many people have answered you can go to an out of state school but you’d more than likely be paying out of state tuition. There are exceptions of course. Penn State has some campuses near the boarder of New Jersey, Ohio, and New York which have started offering in-state tuition to out-of-state students. The University of MD has something similar to residents of select counties of Northern Virginia.

Yes but you may be paying more because you are now classified as an out-of-state student. The tuition for being out-of-state is usually alot higher than if you lived in the state you were going to school in. Good luck.

Of course you can live where ever you want…You can have an off campus apartment anywhere as long as you go to class and pay your tuition the school doesn’t care where you reside.

Of course you can. Whether you pay “out of state” tuition will really depend on where you have been domiciled for the years leading up to college.

Yes we have a lot of people who live in Illinois and come to school in Wisconsin. 🙂 The tuition may be higher though.

of course you can. lots of people got to school in Washington, DC and go to school in VA and vice-versa. But be mindful that you’ll pay out of state tuition…and that’s ALWAYS higher.
