can someone please explain this to me….?
Favorite Answer
Associate’s Degree- 2 years
Bachelor’s Degree- 4 years
Master’s Degree- 6 years
PhD (Doctorate)- 8 years
Then you get a Bachelor’s (4 years).
Then you get a Master’s. (2 more years)
Then you get a Ph.D. (2 more years).
They don’t all have to be in the same subject, but they should be similar if you want to complete them in that time frame.
The first three degrees involve taking courses in the area of interest (your major).
To get your Ph.D, you have to get a Master’s, then spend two years writing a “thesis”, which is a new study contributing to your area of interest. For example, if you wanted a Ph.D in Psychology, you would get your Master’s, then study some aspect of Psychology for two years and write a thesis (usually around 150 pages).
Hope this helps!
