Can I manage next year at Open University?

I am currently studing with Open University at level 1 course. I would like to carry on however I am concerned about the demand and difficulty of higher level courses. I am not sure whether I can manage as English is my second language.

Is there anybody who hoes OU experience? How much more difficult the next level is compare to level 1?

I am an Open University student in the UK (where it all started!).

The best place to start evaluating your situation is to begin with the question; How did I get on with Level 1 course? Then the best resources to ask whether you are ready for Level 2 courses is your Level 1 tutor (even if the course has finished, do approach them on this subject) and the the Open University Regional Office (in your region of course!) will have advisers who can thoroughly advise you on this.

I personally found the the jump from Level 1 to Level 2 was not that hard – Level 2 courses just ask you to be more reflective and critical and give more supporting evidence and examples for your answers. However, the jump to Level 3 maybe harder as they really ask you to be critical in your writing and argue against some of the course materials. Again, your regional adviser at the regional office should be able to put you through to English as a second language support classes etc if that’s what you require.

I am in my 6th and final year with the OU and have got jobs on the strength of me being an OU student. The courses I have completed are: DD100, A211, D201, B200, D315 and D318 (current).

Go for it and GOOD LUCK!!!

I would suggest hiring a tutor to help you 1-2 times a week.
