can I get my law degree on-line to become a lawyer and if so where?

I would like to become an attorney. but I only have time to do online classes. I want to do as much as I can online without going to an actual campus. Is there programs out there online that I can do from start to finish. I only have a high school diploma.

bad answers all around – par for any discussion about online degrees.

You can not go to law school with a high school diploma – you need to get a bachelor’s degree (in anything) first.

1) online degrees are not respected? source that please. I’m thinking the graduate degrees at Harvard, UMass, Boston, et al are pretty well respected. How about Fla State, SUNY, UCLA and the other state U’s… hmmmm why are all of these famous colleges offering degrees online? Could it be that it works?

2) there are a couple colleges offering degrees in law (JD) online but they only qualify for the bar in California and the pass rates are pretty low. They do exist though. Concord Law School is one.

Are you in the US? If so, you should realize that law degrees are graduate degrees. You need to get an undergraduate degree first.

Now — here is the bad news. Online universities are not well respected. Your chances of getting into a law school with a degree from an online university are minimal.

Now for some good news. You don’t need a law degree to practice law in California, Maine or Virginia. But now for some more bad news. Those states have the toughest Bar exams — and it is hard to pass them without going to a good law school.

Your plan is flawed — because it involves doing things the easy way. If you want to become a lawyer, you should go to the best college and law school that you can go to. Of course, if you don’t want to become a GOOD lawyer, take the easier route.

The authorized task marketplace is flooded correct now so it’s by and large no longer a well notion. The on-line colleges are questionable, do not move wherever that’s no longer ABA accredited, Only one million state enables you to take the bar and turn out to be a attorney with out first getting a JD and even though you had been to cross (which could be not going) you could certainly not be competent to uncover a task on account that you could be competing with humans who all have a authorized schooling.

Online law degree… no such thing. I bet they are online degrees for paralegals. You need a four year degree. I suggest in something related in the type of law you want to practice. Example, some type of engineering or a fundemental science degree if you want to do patent law.

Law degrees are doctoral degrees, but they are never called doctor. I am not sure way, I think it is because they don’t have to do dissertations like academic programs. So, all it you could get it 3 to 5 years you could get your J.D. Law degrees with dissertations are J.S.D. or PhD.

Good luck getting clients.

You do need to have a four year college degree from an accredited university, and then you have to pass the exam in a state for a license to practice law.
