Can anyone assist me with a moving out and going to college check-list?

I’m a careful person, but I know I will forget to do something, or do things maybe in the wrong order. Can anyone assist me with a link to a website (direct link to the page please) or a checklist of your own with tips and things you forgot? Thanks very much!

You’ll remember the big things. Don’t forget the little things, and yes there is always a store to purchase things you do forget. Remember some of these things..

The usual paper, pens, printer ink, etc

Bandaids

Mini tool kit ( they do come in handy)

First aid kit

Hangers

Power strip( especially in a dorm room there are not many plugs)

Walk sticky tacks ( to hang up posters/pictures that will not wreck the walls when you take them down at the end of the year)

Cell Phone Charger

Advil/Tylenol/Bayer/etc…

Stamps

Care products(toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, etc…)

Even though my freshman year of college I made several lists there were still things I did forget. Check your lists a few times and just remember little things.I forgot towels! One of the things I never thought I would forget!

Even though you think you may have everything and are very careful, I can quarentee you will end up going out to buy something.

Good luck with your school year!

There’s a few necessary things. If you forget anything, well there’s plenty of people you could borrow it from until you can get it yourself. A checklist I keep:

plastic dishes and cutlery

alarm clock

storage crates/trays

laundry basket

hangers (yeaaa, I didn’t have that the first time around)

fan is handy depending on weather

computer/printer/any necessary cables

power strip (definatly not enough outlets in a dorm room)

towels

bedding (Xlong twin)

mattress pad (dorm beds aren’t that comfy)

toiletries

a small pharmacy (bandaids, advil, etc)

flip flops for shower

clothes

full lenght mirror

stapler

pens/pencils/notebooks

cleaning supplies

microwave

mini fridge

camera

home things (knick knacks, posters)

…I’m probably even forgetting something, but no worries.

food – canned food, ramen, drinks

clothing of course,

comforter, sheets, pillow cases

depending on if your in an airconditioned dorm a fan

electronics (whatever you need)

towels, washcloths, toiletries (toothbrushes and so on)

robe, shower caddy (for shampoo etc.), dishes (microwaveable preferrably, plates, and bowls) utensils

school supplies (backpack, pencils, etc)

microwave

These are all I can think of you might want to explain where you will be living dorm or apartment for apartment a lot more for a dorm not as much, will you have a roomate what will that person bring, is it airconditioned or non, and anything you may forget the bookstore or convenient store on campus should have. Good luck!

wish I were
first aid stuff & pain reliever, cough drops, anti bacterial cream, kleenex. make a jar up with a few nails, tacks, string, picture hangers, a small hammer & small screwdriver set. Something to carry your bath stuff back & forth, message board for your door, laundry basket, soap & softener, roll or two of quarters. Pillows, rug, quilt stuff to add your personality to your room. Flashlight, a few pieces of silverware & dishes, food storage containers, small fridge for you room if you can swing it. Stapler, glue whiteout, scissors, tape, desk stuff. Sheets, blankets & towels. Alarm clock, small lamp, a way to play tunes & a fan. Hope this helped some, have a blast!

what’s the point
take lots of quarters to do your laundry on those weekends when you can’t get home.

also keep a prepaid phone card in your wallet in the event of an emergency.

be sure to get multiple notebooks. college isn’t like high school where each class will only take up a few pages each semester.

Too many to mention…Dump the high school girlfriend. Mainly because she is still in high school.

__ Chug beer every method imaginable. Beer bong, shotgun, keg stand etc. However, don’t act like you can drink/chug more than you really can. Secretly pouring our beer to impress your friends is an offense punishable by death.

__ Quit quoting every popular movie in every conversation. It is annoying as cheese whiz. I saw the movie too asshole and it was way better when Will Farrell said it.

__ Obtain a poorly made fake ID and when you have it taken by a bouncer offer to arm wrestle him for it back.

You’ll do fine. Just remember cleaning supplies! The cost of those add up. See if you can “borrow” some from your folks.

Ha, just worry about keeping your panties on and bring the picture of your boyfriend and your Carebears nightlight.

It’s just college, jump right in and have fun, dude.
