No. It’s not enough to parrot someone else’s work. You have to provide your own analysis and explain to the reader why you think they should care.

No. Use quotations selectively and sparingly, and only when you think it will elucidate what you are trying to say. The purpose of writing a paper is getting your own point across, not regurgitating someone else’s.

Professors are not stupid. They can tell when a student is being lazy or deceptive.

WARNING: If you use someone else’s words or ideas (even just paraphrasing) and fail to give them credit, you have committed plagiarism, which is a serious academic offence. You may receive a zero for the entire assignment, the entire course, or be kicked out of your educational institution altogether.

No– a successfull college paper needs to incorporate your own ideas and thinking. A good paper takes the quotation and makes it your own. It shows the admissions staff your ability to think critically, exploratory, and creative.

Using quotations only gives them the impression of plagiarizing.

No. In it, you have to put what you have to say, not what others have said.In the first place, it’s your paper, not theirs.
