CalArts Character Animation?
I would also like to know if my colorblindness could cause a problem with the education part of animation.

When I applied to art school, I maybe only had one piece with color. My portfolio was actually quite simple – it was mostly my drawings from my life drawing classes, plus some b&w landscape sketches. So I’m not sure that use of color is 100% a requirement, and especially in your case, where you have a very valid reason for perhaps not doing so.
I don’t think it will cause a problem with your education, so long as the professors know about it up front and are willing to work with you. Needless to say, you may need to talk to them about waiving out of color theory class – or maybe, even there, adaptations can be made? And you’ll need to take a different approach to some of the class assignments, but I think that the professors will be willing to be flexible on this, so long as the overall quality of your work is good.
CalArts, btw: good choice. For animation in California, you can also look at the strong programs at UCLA and USC.
