Are there colleges for young moms or pregnant students?

Are there colleges for young moms or pregnant students?

The reason that I am asking is because I am a senior and had my daughter my junior yr.By the time I start college she will be about 15 months.I need to go to college and I know how difficult it will be for me but I really want to.It’s not just for me who I’m going for now,it’s for my daughter and future family too.

Someone told me that they have these colleges where young college age moms attend and pregnant students as well.

Please,if anyone knows of these kinds of schools let me know.

Thanks.

Good for you girl! I don’t know any college that specialized in college for pregnant moms. But your not pregnant you can go to a school. I would go to a community school because they are cheaper or a school near by to your home. Most school campus after day care. Once your in a college your age, race, gender, marital status, of if your parent dose not matter. Even if you start off taking two classes it a step in the right direction. Explore your near by schools, find one that has day care, if you have breaks between classes you can pop in and see your baby. Finish high school and don’t stop there. I’m 22 just return to school last semester, my daughter is 17 months now. I work, go school I even pulled a 3.5 and raise my daughter. You can do whatever you put your mind to. Good luck girl!

Most colleges have day care facilities and health services. The stigma that used to be attached to unwed mothers has largely disappeared, but it would be wise to ask about your situation when you apply. Ask specifically what programs there are for single parents. If you can find a school with a coop, that might be ideal for your situation. When people in similar situations band together and help each other out, it is always less expensive and more fulfilling for everyone involved.

Where I did my undergrad, Western Connecticut State University, they had family housing (on campus apartments) and an on campus daycare center.

Another easy option for you may be to do your education online. My friend is doing that right now. She didn’t go to college right after high school because she got married, had her son and was quickly divorced. Now she is doing the online thing so she can have a degree and have a better life for her and her son and she doesn’t have to worry about getting a babysitter while she does her classwork…

i think of appropriate for you would be to stay at residing house and bypass to a 2 12 months community college and then flow to a school close to to residing house to wind up the final 2 years of your degree. That way your toddler won’t could desire to be moved faraway from her grandparents and stay in dorms on campus. community faculties are plenty extra inexpensive than Universities and you will save money by employing not having to pay for room/board. you will probable discover that maximum faculties and Universities have day look after school babies at low/decreased costs. So, no be counted the place you bypass you will have the potential to drop your daughter off at day care on campus while you’re at college. sturdy success, hon!!

There aren’t any specialized colleges for people in your situation, but some colleges will have decent day care facilities on campus at reasonable prices.

I have a 7 month old,a 30 hour a week job, and a husband and I take classes from Allied Medical School online. Its awesome, they mail you your books and study material and you do everything online. You can work at your own pace and they give you as much time as you need. http://mtappp.com/index.html

There aren’t schools specifically geared towards mothers, but every university has childcare available. Another option might be online schools, but be careful to pick a reputable and accredited one.
