I think that when a student transitions from high school directly to college, they are still in the “it’s all about me” stage. In college, students hear new ideas and concepts they probably have never heard before, and are encouraged to think critically about current events, society issue, politics, etc. Students are given a new freedom to explore these mental and emotional venues.

However, college students for the most part, and especially if their parents are still supporting them, still haven’t really experienced life and all the difficulties, joys, unexpected moments, etc., that can arise from being self-supporting and working.

And people sometimes just want to move on with their lives and not think about, or associate with high school friends and culture. Maybe they’re ashamed of something. And it is very possible that yes, they are just snobby and have a big ego.

College is a big change for most college strudents. It is no longer play time and a great deal of hard work. Often they can feel a little superior, but inside that is not what is going on. Not to worry, there are plenty of college students that are real down to earth. Would you really want to be friends with a person that appeared to be a snob? Think on that. You soon will give others the same impression.

No, they aren’t stuck up generally. I suppose some might be, but so are some people who don’t go. It’s not good to generalize like that.

Side note here: It’s spelled college, not collage.

Collage Kids – this phrase is used in reference to a group that is dedicated to the cut and paste form of collage. Be it that, I would have to answer “yes” to your question of if they are “stuck” up!

seems like someone has a bit of a chip on their shoulder?

yes, many people who go to college are proud of this fact and some of them might let their ego get a little out of control…..

but saying that EVERY person you’ve met who’s simply gone to college is so stuck-up they can’t see straight is overwhelmingly ignorant.

I think people may take pride in their education and are excited to embark on a new chapter in their lives but stuck up…. no. I know plenty of people who went to college and people who didnt they are all great people and all apply their skills to their daily lives….maybe youve just met the wrong people…
