At my school you get kicked out for lying, but that’s pretty unusual for a college.

However, taking the same two classes at different universities may not be considered “lying” unless you said that you hadn’t previously taken that class. It would really depend on the school.

Chimichanga to go please!!
I don’t know why one college should care what you take at another college. As long as you aren’t doing anything fraudulent, it shouldn’t matter. The only disadvantage that I could see with taking the exact two classes at two different colleges is that while you might get credit for each class at each college, when it comes to a degree, only the college where you will earn that degree will give you credit for that class toward that degree. Now if you already took one class at one unversity and have to take it again at another one, I would talk to the school registrar and see if they will allow the class you already took at the other college to transfer over so that you can get credit for it without having to take the class again at the university you are currently at.

Other than that, I see no problem with taking duplicate classes elsewhere, unless, as I said, you were trying to defraud, which to be honest, I don’t see how doing this could be used to defraud anyone. Oh – the way you could be defrauding is if you are receiving financial aid to take that specific class and you are taking it twice and therefore receiving financial aid for it twice. In such a case, then yes, you could get in trouble, but the sort of trouble you could get into would be the city attorney’s office, most likely, and you could spend some time in jail.

There is no penalty for lying in your university. Lie all you want, just don’t cheat or you’ll be expelled. The penalty for taking two of the same classes at different school is the money you lose by doing that. It makes no sense because you’ll only get credit for the class that you take at the university you are graduating from.

I don’t understand: why would you do that? I have known people in master’s programs who were in 2 programs, and I am pretty sure they don’t like that, but I don’t know that there is a punishment for it.
