Any ideas/tips for a student looking to major in Biomedical Engineering? Top schools for this field?

I am interested in majoring in biomed.eng. in college, I was wondering what peoples’ thoughts/experiences were that have either been in the field or explored the field as well. Also, if anyone is currently working in this field could you give me a little blurb about what your job entails.

The University of Florida and Florida state have excellent programs, I actually know a student at FSU taking Bio med. She says it is an extremely difficult degree, but the reward will be the possibility of helping find cures for diseases, My son is taking Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida, he tutors her on the p/c and on weekends when she needs some one on one.

They both say it’s not as hard as chemical Eng.

The university of S Florida also offers this course.

The down side is U of F is an extremely hard school to get into. Your HS counselor will be able to help you find which colleges offer this program and what their entrance requirements are, and if anyone offers scholarships specifically for that program. My son found a 5000 dollar renewable shrshp just for Chem. Engineering students.

Good luck honey! Keep chasing your dreams!

that is not undemanding to declare, the outlook is amazingly stable yet biomedical engineering courses are filling up and you’d be competing with a brilliant sort of different graduates. however, healthcare is the superb place to be properly suited now, i think of you’re making a stable determination.
