Nothing anyone here can give you without having a better idea of your background. You have to be able to articulate how this degree is going to help you in your career path, why you need it now as opposed to a couple of years down the road, and why the school you’re applying to is going to give you a more successful future than somewhere else would. Beyond that, there’s no magic formula; it’s all you.

MBA’s reflect the reality of corporate america that we live in: The rich get richer. TOP MBA graduates go on to get atleast 150,000K salaries on average, but it has nothing to do with the education they received. They had good marks, they had good GMAT scores, and most importantly, they had work experience at companies where they were getting paid 6 figure salaries, (jobs that they got from a bachelor degree where they needed high GPA and SAT to get in, do you see what i’m getting at). Employers recruit MBA students from top schools b/c they’re smart (GMAT scores), work hard (Undergrad GPA), and have experience (they must, or else they couldnt get in. It has nothing to do with education, it’s a breeding ground for networking and branding yourself as a winner in business. So yes, it’s good if you can get in, but it’s not the MBA classes (which are useful, but have nothing to do with recruitment) that will be getting you that big job, it was you the whole time. Thus, the lesson is, Study hard right now if you’re in high school or undergrad, get into the best school possible, work as hard as you can, get the best job you can get, and MBA will relaunch you as it will a lot of my classmates (Top tier undergrad business school in Canada, and we’re all eyeing harvard for 5 yrs down the road).

A MBA course usually take at least 2 years to complete. I think it is better to have MBA so if you wish to move up the corporeate lader, you can show your MBA to open the door.

I meet a lot of managers who cannot upgrade because qualification is not there when they need it. Then the chances is passed to another younger person who have MBA.

I heard also if you do a UK MBA, you can use that to migrate into UK.

i agree. they don’t pay off…YET

but in 10 years, when every joe shcmoe in america has a BS, guess who will be managing them???

me and other people with MBA’s.

no, they really don’t pay off yet, but they will and if you can get your company to pay for it (or at least 1/2) go for it. better to do it now than when you have kids/wife/less time overall
