Key thing to do is to look at the college catalog for your MA program. That is the official contract you have with the college to earn the MA. Somewhere in the terms for the MA are specifications that a certain number of units must be completed “in residence”…taken at the campus…not transferred in, etc. (An exception may be on-line courses.) CEUs are often associated with in-service training and keeping up an existing certification/license. Depending on the school issuing the CEUs, these units may or may not show up on a transcript. They may count with employers for promotions, pay increases, etc…but may not really be applicable to traditional academic degrees.
