ACCA is a professional course. Once you become a member (i.e. after passing the all exams & obtaining the necessary experience) you can then call yourself a chartered accountant. ACCA is a specialist accounting qualification.

Whereas studying accounting & finance at a university will usually get you an undergraduate degree. This is an academic qualification. Some would call it a sub professional course.

People usually start with an accounting degree and move on to do ACCA at an accountancy college in order to become qualified accountants.

go to acca.org.uk for information on ACCA.

Good luck!

Bachelors of Accounting and Finance should be your first stop. It will help you gain the academic foundation required for ACCA (which is geared towards professional accountants).
