Currently, the tallest tower is CN tower in Toronto, Canada. But Dubai, would most likely beat this record by next year. In 2008, the Burj Dubai tower will be the new jewel on the skyscraper of booming Dubai and is expected to be more than 800 meters high, dwarfing Taiwan’s Taipei 101, a skyscraper that reaches 509 meters into the sky and is currently the highest building in the world.

The worlds highest tower is the CN Tower in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I was there and it is truly the highest tower! The round part at the top is a restrant and its awesome cuz it moves!

Every time this question is asked there is a great debate as to what a tower is?
The tallest building is in Taipai known as the Taipai Financial Center.
but if you are talking about towers then I believe the CN tower in Toronto is still the tallest free standing tower in the world

Hmm..I am currently sitting at my desk and looking at the Burj Dubai; windows are already being placed and from here it already looks as if it has surpassed the height of Taipei 101.
So I would say that the Burj Dubai is currently the tallest tower, but Taipei 101 is currently the tallest functional-tower.

I’ll guess you mean building, and it’s the Taipei Financial Center in Taipei, Taiwan. It’s 101 stories high and that means 1,671 feet. It was completed in 2003.
