Who was it for?
Firstly, apologies for my ignorance. Yesterday in the ladies loo there was a cubicle with a hole in the ground, somewhere to place a foot either side and a shower head. Please could someone tell me what nationality or religion this facility is provided for – I haven’t a clue and have never seen one before.

I have seen pictures of this type in asian cultures and have heard of it being used in some middle-eastern cultures as well.

It could be one of many places, Ive been to Dubai, and the toilets there are very similar to USA. I’ve seen that type of toilet in Japan. It kind of looks like a big flat bathtub right?

In a building I worked in Libya, there was a western-style toilet and one very much like the one you describe. The latter was the one our Libyan staff preferred.
