Not technically “a” city but several connected ones – Silicon Valley, where I live! (ok, I’m biased, but still true) – and I assume you mean most technologically advanced.

Thousands of high tech companies are headquartered here: Adobe, Apple, eBay, Google, HP, Intel, Intuit, Oracle, Yahoo!, Cisco Systems, National Semiconductor, NASA’s research center, Sun Microsystems, Symantec, etc. It’s in Northern California, and extends from San Mateo and the Fremont area down to San Jose. I’m in the middle of it in Mountain View where Google is headquartered & where we have free wireless access throughout the city.

A 2006 Wall Street Journal story found that 13 of the 20 most inventive towns in America were in California, and 10 of those were in Silicon Valley. It’s the leading high-tech hub because of all the engineers and venture capitalists.

As far as areas in Asia or Europe: believe me, their best engineers are here because of the money to be made. Folks jokingly call the area “the All-Star team” for this reason. I’m not even sure English is the #1 language here. And the wealth because of that is ridiculous; my 6 figure income is peanuts here and I live a few miles from several billionaires.

No, we are no longer anymore. we’ve close down the main analyze centers. Bell Labs is long previous. Obama has all yet close down NASA. the sole heavily funded analyze is the army, yet they often do no longer invent lots till there’s a extensive conflict like WW2. So i’m particular India has developed some secret new technologies that they are quietly putting into production. whilst it rather is ultimately introduced, it will be in mass production on an identical time as we interior the u . s . have not even began on it interior the lab. the u . s . would be thoroughly wiped out technologically, via fact we’ve systematically destroyed our custom of innovation. the u . s . will quickly be relegated to a 2d fee united states of america, technologically speaking.

I’ve starred your question because, although I don’t think there is any way to measure that, you should get some interesting suggestions.

I was very impressed by what I saw in Japan and Hong Kong – especially as high-tech was side by side with ancient tradition. On the other hand, the cleanest, smoothest subway I’ve seen is in Santiago, Chile.
