back when we used typewriters we all knew that it was stewardesses and hokeypokey on the right, because that was part of the typing test, just like the quick brown fox jumps over the lazy red dog. there were also word for the top and middle, rows, but i do not recall them now
and yes, my old typewriters all had roman numerals, but most did not have a number one
my wife learned on a french typewriter, which does not use the same arrangement of letters. when i would have to type on her machine i used one finger on each hand
