It is challenging. You are usually required to take some history (lots of memorization of dates and names), math, and design studios.

More importantly, though, is how time consuming it is. Expect to spend most of your free time (including most nights and several weekends) in the studio. When you come down to due dates for projects, expect to get very little sleep (and showers, and exposure to daylight). This is all part of the weeding-out process to see who really wants it.

Yes. If you want it easy, go to commercial design school (emphasis on form over function) If you want it hard become a structural engineer (emphasis function over form)

Meld the two into one and you get an architect.

At a good school they will require some math and at some point you will get to try your hand at construction.

Beware, schools that put Architecture in the engineering department usually have major math requirements for all engineers and that will include you it the degree is Architectural /Engineering.

You know, it will be really easy for you if you love that profession and if you are eager to reach some point you have to work too hard.
