What is the only US City to have its administrative offices on a river island?
I heard a triva question once that entailed there being only one US City to be like Paris, France in that it had its government headquarters on a river island. I had assumed this to be Pierre, SD; but looking at Google Earth, the river island adjacent to the city doesn’t appear to be developed. I then thought perhaps the answer was Des Moines, IA; but the river that runs through it doesn’t appear to have any substantial-sized islands.
Any help? Thanks!

I’m pretty sure it’s New York City. If it’s not, check out New Orleans.
