What does the letter “c” infront of a date in history mean?

Like if you are given the date c1567 to 1069 B.C, what does that letter “c” before 1567 stand for. I have no idea what the actual range of this time period is because I don’t know when that first date in the time range above is reffering to. Thanks for any help.

It means “circa” or approximately. It’s used when a precise date for something isn’t known.

I completely agree with you, sir! Teens nowadays date for the soul purpose of dating. The reason for dating is to look for the person in whom you’ll be spending your life with!

That means “circa 1567” – or “around” 1567. “Circus” is the Latin word for “around,” from which we get “circle” and “circus,” among other words 🙂
