Likley have an M4 issued U. S. bayonet. I believe you can still buy this knife fairly easily at military surplus shops, so its fairly unlikely that your’s ever saw combat but knives just like it did.

The M4 bayonet was issued to US Military troops in WWII and Korea (and was even issued to ARVN troops in Vietnam) and was attached to the M-1 Carbine. This time-tested bayonet makes a great all-purpose work knife as well as a great collector’s item. Its battle-tested design makes it a great camping, hiking, or hunting companion. The M4 features a sharp 6.5″ carbon steel blade, coated with a rust-resistant, non-reflective black finish. The tip of the blade is sharpened on both sides for extra cutting versatility
