Turkeys originally developed around central America, thus they’re not indigenous to Turkey. However there might be some Turkey farms in Turkey, but don’t expect them to roam around the country side.

First get the history right: The country Turkey was known to pale faces before pale faces knew that the Earth is one big globe, and when pale faces finally arrived to where is named America by pale faces many years after Christopher Columbus died, they ‘discovered’ that there is such a kind of wild poultry that they have never seen before, so for racist reason, those pale faces called this ‘newly discovered’ poultry ‘turkey’. So the now the word Turkey has 2 meanings: The country known as Turkey, and the bird that is native to America.

Nowadays, you can actually find turkey in Turkey, as the birds are exported to, bred in some capacity in Turkey.
