The Russians, some Americans, and probably other nationalities have all stayed in space stations (often together) for much longer than 17 days. Some have been in space for months at a time. I’m talking about in stations, though…with some space-walking… but I’ve never heard of any astronaut staying outside a space station for long.

I’m sorry, I don’t remember where I read or heard this, though it was in more than one place and at more than one time…

Maybe NASA has a link for the ‘puter you could hook up to, and find out for yourself how long men have spent in space.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘in space’.

“International space station cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev logged his 749th day in orbit yesterday (August 17, 2005), breaking colleague Sergei Avdeyev’s record for the most time spent in space, NASA said”.

No. And I don’t have the interest to research it very far but in 1973 there was a ‘Skylab’ mission that lasted 28 days.According to www.time.com

Really? I was under the impression people have stayed up there for substantially longer.
