I can’t find my High school diploma?

I graduated from a Kentucky high school in 2004, and I have lost my high school diploma. I have been in college since then, but I am afraid that I will need proof of graduation from high school to seek employment. I cannot remember my old HS ID number to give to them in case of request. What steps should I take to obtain proof of graduation? Thank you in advance!

You can’t. You have to go to high school all over again. Just kidding. Most employers don’t care about a HS diploma once you are in college or have a college degree.

However to get a replacement contact your high school office. The secretary may still remember you and be able to speed things along, but either way he or she will be able to tell you who to contact for a replacement. Since it has been a couple of years the records might be at a district central location other than your high school, but this should just be a matter of a little paper work. Good luck.

I too have tried to obtain a copy of my high school diploma and I was told that they no longer keep those on record all they keep is your transcript, so getting a copy is out of the question. I just wanted mine to put in a frame to look at, if you just want it for this find someone that was in your graduating class and scan it and remove their name and put your name on it, this is only illegal if you use it for something.

False. But a college degree has more to do with a person being smart, don’t kid yourself; a degree confirms other attributes. And, there are different intelligences to contend with as well, 8 to be precise, and they ALL count.

I would call the school first and ask them or call the Department of Education in that town and ask them what to do. I’m sure it will be easy to get a copy.

Contact your high school and ask them for a written statement verifying your graduation./ It happens frequently and should not present a problem.
