The short answer is that he was shot in the head. The long answer is that he got into an argument at a club, apparently over a game of pool. There’s been a few different versions of exactly what happened. In one, Proof pistol whipped another man named Keith Bender, then shot him in the face (Bender died a few days later). Bender’s cousin, Mario Etheridge, then shot Proof. In another version, there were multiple people involved in the fight and Proof did not shoot first.
