I had a 1.67 GPA when I re-entered college after taking 5 years off. I spent a lot of time re-taking classes that I had done poorly in. I am a senior and my GPA is up to 3.6. I did this by getting all A’s (except B’s in Anatomy and Physiology). There is hope.

Yes, I have had friends that have gone through similar problems. The only way they could raise it significantly was to (this may not be what he wants to do) take extra classes and perhaps some night classes as well. When I say extra classes I mean that he should take a break and take a lot of exercise science classes for a semester or some like the science of soccer, basket ball…. The easy ones. Maybe a typing class or a dance class. This will bring up his GPA but will also put him behind a 1/2 year or a full year. If grades are important, that is what I would do. College is the best time of your life, it was for me, so an extra year would be fun. Just tell him to keep his head up and continue to study in advance for other classes as he takes the easy ones. That way he will be that much more ahead for the future and make it easier. Hope this helps. Take care.

my brother did the same thing in undergrad school .he is very smart but he was to busy with the beer and the pooty tang to study so his qpa was 1.97 at the end of his 2nd semester. the parents told him to get his butt into his books or get a JOB. that woke him up. he saved the beer and the pooty for the weekends and turned into a real grind during the week. his graduation QPA was 3.6. tell you bro that he needs to start hitting the books instead of the pooty.

My sister has, but she had to experience a rude awakening. Unless your brother can get his head out his a**, no way.
