I got a lot of free textbooks at a teacher’s convention. They would ask me if I was on the textbook selection committe, I’d say yes, and I’d get a copy.

Also, if you call textbook company they’ll send you a sample- if you are involved with textbook selection in some way. Now, what you tell them is between you and what you are comfortable with.

I got free Drama textbooks by calling and just saying that I was piloting an 8th grade drama course.
