A great teacher is consistent. He/She treats everyone fairly, equally and consistently.

Accessability is important, but with the understanding that teachers have so many other commitments during the day besides their classes.

I encourage my students to talk in class, but I have to be careful of students responding inappropriately when someone gives their opinion. I let them know that their opinion is important even if no one else agrees.

And I welcome the students to challenge me….I have taken timings on keyboarding along with them, taken quizzes (that I did not make up), etc. I think we are all in the room to learn. I tell my students that I learn as much from them as they do from me. It empowers them, and they tend to speak up more.

It is the personality of the teacher. A student learns more when the teacher is fun. Meaning the way she teaches where the student gets involved. Like example for vocabulary words the class would split up in two teams. The game ended when all the words had been used. It was almost like playing jeopardy but with a bell that you had to hit first in order to give the answer. The winning team won 5-10 extra points on their test. This challenged them to learn and have fun. Repetition is key too. Repeat the stuff over and over until it is embedded into their head.

There was always discussions that related to back then and now.

Accessibility was always a key point. Most kids would rather talk with the teacher after class than during.

Ive been out of school (high school) for 15+ years..I had some great teachers in school..

I have really had some opportunities to see GREAT teachers (and other staff) while my older son has been in school. Its the teachers who are there for the kids and not just because it’s their job. Also the other staff too that enables these teachers to be so wonderful.

There is nothing worse than having a FANTASTIC teacher or principle who is there for the children and has NO support from the other staff. That is a very sad time for the education system. My son had a FANTASTIC principle who was there for the kids and the kids ADORED her..she was driven out of the school by the staff who only seen their positions as their JOB and wasn’t there for the kids at all.

With the schools being so over crowded now it’s hard for the kids to get the one on one time some need…they do what they can..before school help and after school.

Classroom participation is very important. It’s not the funnest thing in the world when your called upon to talk in front of a class full of people you swear are all laughing at you…but the end result is higher self esteem..and better understanding of what your studying.

I had a few teachers that would allow you to challenge him or her. Not many people did it..but they allowed it.

hhhhmmmm..

a teacher knows the topic well..

has organize thoughts..

needs no copy at all..the brain do the work..

because he knows the topic very well..

can answer different questions as much as possible..

doesn’t leave any student hanging on a certain question..

smiles, waves and reply’s when you see him by the lobby or elsewhere..

doesn’t show superiority aside from him already standing in front and has everyone’s attention..

doesn’t only talk about the lessons but adds life vitality concerning the topic like experiences, his or facts..

well dressed..heheehehehe..

that’s important considering the fact his in front and the center of attention..ryt?

it’s also nice to look and listen to someone representable..

it’s ok if he doesn’t memorize all the class names..

as long as there’s no FAVORITISM..

the WoRST! quality if i may say so..

and leaves the room with a SMILE in his face..

an important factor that leaves the room a little bit comfortable for us.. students..

i guess..im talking about my professor..

considering you published in larger education (college +), i assume you’re speaking approximately in college. instructor accessibility after type grow to be significant to me as a huge lecture isn’t the time or place to ask particular questions. whether, it did no longer incredibly must be the instructor…if there grow to be a Grad pupil instructor (TA) for the classification, that worked too. In college i do no longer think of lecture room communicate grow to be that significant to me. At a stable college the professor is typically between the main knowledgeable specialists in his/her field, and that they must be those speaking, to be truthful. communicate has its place in communicate sections with a TA or deepest learn communities. particular, yet to be thoroughly truthful each between the professors i’ve got had has been somebody I have not got any reason to undertaking :p…they know what they’re speaking approximately. each each now and then they might ask “confusing” questions for which there is not any stable answer to illustrate a factor, yet different than that, no longer likely…
