how to study for SAT?

What is the best SAT Study/Prep Book?

Where can I buy SAT Vocabulary Flash Cards?

How can I study thoroughly for the Math section? The Critical Reading Section? The writing section?

Can I buy the SAT Study/Prep Book in my local bookstore, such as barnes and Nobles?

Lastly, does Latin REALLY help? because I’m taking my 1st year of Latin this year, and my second next year (obviously), and I’m taking the SAT next year too.

PLEASE HELP!! thanks!

the best SAT study/prep book is the Official SAT Study Guide book (a big blue book) published exclusively by the collegeboard. i suggest u read everything in that book and do the practice tests at the end, which there are eight. these practice tests are very similar to the real test. as for vocabulary flash cards, you can buy those at any retail bookstore like barnes and nobles under the “test prep” section or even get them and sat books online at amazon or ebay. the best way to prepare for the sat such as the math, critical reading, and writing section is actually surprisingly, by going to school. there are also nice online vocabulary flash cards if you type in “sat vocabulary” or “sat vocabulary cards” into google or any search engine. the sat is really not meant to be something you can study for because it is an aptitude test and it’s not meant to be studied for because your schooling education prepares you for it. it is a test that tests your inherent knowledge and test taking ability. however, there are individual books that can prepare you on the specified section. i suggest doing some full-length practice tests and diagnose your weaknesses before getting a book tailored to a specific section which you can buy online or at book stories (i know barrons and petersons and mcgraw-hill have a lot of individual subject books such as “how to prepare for SAT Writing”). as for latin, i have taken for latin for two years in the hopes that it could help on the sat, but in reality, latin does not help as much as i thought it would, but don’t get me wrong, IT CERTAINLY DOES HELP SOME in the long run with roots and similar words to english and builds vocab, which is good for the reading section. but the key to doing well on teh sat is relax, its just a test and not the end of your life, be prepared (know the directions and everything so your familiar with what you have to do), do some practice problems (go to collegeboard.com question of the day everyday for a real-like sat question), and the night before the test watch a movie with friends and take it easy and go to bed early and have a big breakfast the next day. you’ll do fine, even i got a 2170. i apologize for teh spelling mistakes, i’m too lazy to fix them all.
