What is the hiring process for a teacher?

Do teachers have to take polygraph tests?

How far along in college do you have to be in order to be a substitute teacher?

Depends on what state you are applying in. Almost all will do a background check, fingerprinting etc. Some states allow you to sub with 2 years of college, others require 4.

Can’t speak for anywhere else, but here you need a degree to teach in schools. And then you need to be registered. If you don’t have a degree then you can’t be left alone with students (unless you’ve been teaching so long, you qualified before the law came in). If you don’t have your registration then you can only teach for ten days until you register.

I can’t speak for finger printing or polygraph tests, but in order to get your registration you need to be police vetted.

Everywhere is different, you need to find out what the requirements are for where you live.
