How about a SpEd Consultant?

SpEd Advocate? Work for an Advocay group.

How about SpEd Paraprofessional (obviously a huge lack in salary)

SpEd Testing Coordinator-We have one gal in our district and she’s the primary person for testing a lot of our SpEd kids

Private tutoring?

I am pursuing an Administrative degree now, but without years of teaching experience, you may not get hired in Administration.

You can be a counselor within the school system or outside in the private sector. A lot may depend on which state and county you are in.

There are hospitals such as the Shriners in most states that have services that take care of children with special needs.

Since it’s the children you enjoy… you can either choose to cntinue working with those that need special assistance or even those that just need that special companionship.

There are many websites that you can visit… just by typing children with special needs….

I got my BS in speech therapy and my MA in Sped.

You can do so many things with your degree, but you may have to go back to school.

After I got my bachelors, I got a job as a speech therapist. During my employment I received my masters. I had no intention of teaching either, and now I will be selling communication devices around the Southeast—which is something completely different (and yet the same) as what I went to school for.

There is so much you can do with your background and education…..:D

Work in higher education, at a university. I went from teaching to research, and it’s a nice switch to work with adults.

If you like what you do, but don’t want to teach, you could look into being a principal. Or, you could work in foster care with special needs kids.

There’s lots of other stuff you can do too. Management, real estate…the world is your oyster.

You could get a PHD and go into administration at schooll. Or, you could get a job with the State or Federal government in the field of children’s welfare, adoptions, homeless, etc.

You can do a job at the university as a cleaner, no teaching involved at all
