What gift would be great for a new teacher?
My friend is a first year kindergarten teacher. It’s her birthday and I want to get her something special. It could be something practical or fun. I thought of doing something related to teaching instead of something like I would normally give. Thanks!

why don’t you give your friend a grab bag of school / craft supplies. She will need it. Add something for her to relax with, such as teas or coffees; or better yet a spa session. She will REALLY need it. Toss in a bottle of aspirin!

As a teacher myself, I think a great gift which works at any time is a gift certificate to the local teacher supply store. There’s always something we can buy there and, though it’s a gift certificate, it’s a personal gift because you never know what a teacher may need.

Give her a gift certificate for a massage as a stress reducer. She will need it between now and Thanksgiving because the newness of teaching starts wearing off around this time. Give her something to pamper her….and no apple stuff….trust me her students and their parents will give her plenty of that stuff
