Why do teachers change?

Before I had my teacher, I thought she was a b*tch. I’ve always heard that she was mean and everything. Well one day, she came in the restroom and told me to be quiet when I wasn’t even talking (it was during graduation exams) and she gave me this wide-eyed look. Then I saw her in the store getting her nails done, and she gave me the same look..i guess it’s her evil look. She’d do that often in the halls, right when she saw me, she’d give me the wide-eyed look. Well when I became her student, it’s like she’s a totally different person. She’s nice to me, and even let me turn things in late.

Not sure the wide-eyed look is the evil eye. I usually glare at students who are out of line. Could it be that she hasn’t really changed, but that you know her now from experience instead of what others had said.

I hope you’ll have a great student-teacher relationship and that you’ll learn a lot of things from her.

Before you had her for a teacher, she was an unknown to you. I’m sure you looked at her differently too.

It sounds like she connects with students when she gets to know them, but until then, is uncomfortable. I’m glad you found out about the real person behind the ‘glare’ and can recognize her for what she is. After all, she’s learning about you, as well, so it’s a win-win situation.
